How long have you been with your company and in the industry?

I started in the industry and with my company in June 2007.

How did you get started in the industry?

I got into the industry through family and started after high school as a way to earn extra money for spending cash and to help pay for college.  After five years, I graduated college, but never moved on from the company because the employees, customers and vendors had become like family to me.

Where are you from?

I grew up in White Bear Lake and Stillwater, both here in Minnesota. Since high school I have lived in Minneapolis, Vadnais Heights, Hugo, and now I currently live in Maplewood.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family; I come from a large family with five siblings.  My fiancée and I have two dogs and just had our first child, a baby boy named Brayden, one month ago. I enjoy any activity outdoors, including fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, riding ATVs, archery and spending time at the cabin. My favorite outdoor activities that consume the most time are fishing in the summer (walleye, bass, crappie, northern, musky, doesn’t really matter) and deer hunting in the fall. I also enjoy watching and following all major sports—just wish I didn’t root for Minnesota teams.

What’s your favorite thing about your job?

My favorite thing about my job is every day brings something new. Every day I get to work with different people, at different locations, and help resolve different issues. I love working with people and helping fix problems; it makes a day at work fly by and it gives me the feeling of accomplishment.

How does Nexstar help you do your job?

The Service System helped me the most, by giving me the tools I needed to become a more professional and successful technician. Through Nexstar, I learned the value of our industries and gained confidence in both myself and my career.
